How to Shop The Supply Chain Shortage

If you’ve been planning to shop for holiday gifts, winter accessories, or updated pieces for your wardrobe – This is the year you MUST have a game plan. Unlike any year before, there is literally no time for indecision, especially when shopping Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. You may have already noticed that the landscape of shopping is VERY tricky this year.

Stores have limited stock due to import and shipping delays, fringe sizes are selling out fast due to lesser quantity in stock, and a majority of in-stock styles only cater to a casual lifestyle. Holiday pieces just dropped in store, but anything seasonal won’t be replenished. The next big drop of clothes will likely be in February, which will all be spring clothing. Do NOT wait for sales – there won’t be anything left!

How to Hack Online Shopping & In-Store Shopping 2021-2022

  • If you see something that fits and you like it, BUY IT NOW. If you see something you like online, make sure it’s returnable and buy it in MULTIPLE SIZES on the forefront. Simply return the pieces that don’t fit so your correct size does not sell out!
  • If you’re shopping stores in person, start with a shopping list. Do NOT walk into stores not knowing what you want to buy! Having a concise list will help you stay on track and keep your shopping experience from becoming overwhelming.
  • Hit the department stores FIRST and boutiques SECOND. Department stores always have more variety in stock. If your size isn’t out on the floor, you can track a sales person down to see if it’s in store or able to be shipped to you. If it isn’t available, take a photo of the item (including brand name, tags, shoe sole, etc.) to see if it’s being sold online elsewhere.
    • If you can’t find it online either, Meg can help, she has relationships with stores where she is often able to find the stock for you.
