Series 2: Louis Vuitton Exhibit in LA

Fashion has hit LA!  Suddenly Los Angeles is on the road map as a city to show collections.  Tom Ford blazes a new trail by showing his Fall ’15 collection on February 20th, allowing him to style his Ford wearing celebs for the Oscars just 2 days later.  Dior will be showing in LA their Cruise 2016 collection on May 9th.  Exciting when you think of what a lack of high fashion has existed up until recently.
So all this fashion action leads us to
 Louis Vuitton exhibit, Series 2:
The Timeless Inspirations Behind a New Collection, showing in a big black box on Highland & Delongpre until February 22nd.  Take a visual tour of this exhibit with my fabulously awesome  photos and enjoy LV’s creative director, Nicholas Ghesquiere’s, bird’s eye view into his inspiration, design, craftsmanship and luxury.

The outside of the building was wallpapered with these collaged Spring 2015 collection images.

Reflected panels of light are a modern interpretation of the classic LV logo.

A snippet of the visual journey of the House of Louis Vuitton.  This segment captures the heroines and muses of the Louis Vuitton lifestyle.

A large room with seating showcased 3 different videos detailing the handmade craftsmanship, labor and exquisite detail that go into every Louis Vuitton piece produced.

This area, the Accessories Gallery, was a strong contrast to the previous rooms which were very dark.
LOVED the design of these mannequins.

Great Garbo’s LV shoe trunk that could hold up to 20 pairs of shoes.  She traveled often and in style.

Sales register from 1927- each decade was covered in a different color leather.
The collage posters photographed by Annie Lebowitz, Jurgen Teller and Bruce Weber were part of the Spring 2015 ad campaign.
Posters for everyone!

A sitting area that acted as an intermediary to the video and backstage runway rooms.
Floor to ceiling 3D video installation of the Spring 2015 runway collection.
Backstage re-enacted visually and with audio- clothing samples, model line up, and accessories.

Series 2 is the perfect weekend stop for any fashionista.  Enjoy!
Happy Friday!
