The Ultimate Styling Trick for this Year: Jewelry Layering

While we’re going to show you a lot of ways to style your silk scarves, there’s one styling element that feels especially fresh. Layering both chunky and fine jewelry under and over a small folded square scarf or twilly silk scarf takes textural maximalism to the forefront in a balanced, achievable way. Pair this accessory statement look with monochromatic colors and understated pieces. We love this look for dressing up your casual denim, sweaters and white tees or button ups.
What is a twilly scarf? A twilly is a long, narrow scarf made of silk.

Working the Colors Back to Your Outfit VS Pops of Color

Do you want to work your scarf seamlessly into your outfit, or let it add a statement pop of color?
We love “workhorse” scarves that possess neutral colors you can easily to match towards a variety of outfits. Black, navy, cream, gray or brown-based patterns are great for wardrobe longevity.

How to Style a Medium Sized Square Scarf

Depending on the size of your scarf, there are a lot of possibilities for tying and styling it. If your scarf is at least 34 inches, you can tie it around and knot at the front of your neck. If your square is smaller, you can try wearing it cowboy-style and tucking the edges into your shirt.

Mastering the “Grandma Scarf”, Large Square Scarves

Don’t let your larger scarves hang at your front for risk of looking “sloppy”. Firmly fold and tie your scarf like a large cowboy bandana, wear it over your hair and tie under the chin, or drape it over your shoulders like a shawl and tie at the front for modern styling.

Alternative ways to wear your scarf

If you don’t feel like wearing your scarves near your neck or face, you can wear them around your waist too! Try cinching an oversized blazer as a scarf-belt, or wrap a large scarf around your dress to emphasize your waistline.

Tie a scarf in your hair, around your wrist or onto your bag! This is an especially useful alternative for bold scarves with wild patterns or colors that are against your seasonal color palette.
